Erik Prince is an American businessman, ex-Navy Seal and founder of Blackwater. He served as CEO until 2009 and then later as chairman. It was sold off in 2010 to a group of investors. Prince is now CEO of Frontier Resource Group a private equity firm. He splits his residency between the Virginia, USA and Abu Dahbi, UAE.
Erik Prince and his family have a relationship with Mike Pence that goes back years and also has close ties to Senior Advisor Steve Bannon. Prince and his sister Betsey DeVos, were big donors to the Trump campaign. It was reported that the family gave more than $10 million to GOP candidates and super PACs, including about $2.7 million from DeVos, and her husband. Although he was never given a formal role, Erik served as one of Trump’s inner circle of advisors. This is controversial because Erik Prince has been under investigation by the US Justice Department and other federal agencies for possible money laundering and brokering military “services” to foreign governments. According to reports, Prince’s communications have been monitored by U.S. intelligence for over a year.
Interest in Erik Prince’s role in the campaign really spiked when The Washington Post reported that  mysterious meeting in the Seychelles Islands took place in January 2017 just prior to the inauguration. Apparently, the meeting had been arranged by the United Arab Emirates to set up a back channel between the Trump administration and Putin.According to UAE official, Prince presented himself as “an unofficial envoy” for Trump. They invited both Erik and an unnamed Russian close to Russian President. When asked about it, his Prince’s spokesperson claimed “Erik had no role on the transition team. This is a complete fabrication. The meeting had nothing to do with President Trump. Why is the so-called under-resourced intelligence community messing around with surveillance of American citizens when they should be hunting terrorists?”
