February 1, 2018 – GRU hackers attempt spearphish of Romanian embassy, claiming to be defense and security consultants.
In response to efforts to secure submarines, Romania was targeted repeatedly by the GRU in March 2018. Using emails that appeared to be promoting a defense conference, the GRU sent to target navy personnel.
