Cambridge Analytica is a data mining company founded in 2013 and financed by Robert Mercer, a billionaire supporter of Trump and friend of Steve Bannon and Nigel Farage. Mercer was a computer programmer who began working for IBM in 1972. By the early 90s he was an investment manager. He has financially supported many causes and campaigns including the Ted Cruz campaign. He is also a financial supporter of Breitbart with over $10 million.
