Emin Agalarov is an Azerbaijani-Russian and son of the real estate oligarch, Aras Agalarov. Emin was born in Baku, Azerbaijan but moved to Russia in 1983, when he was four years old. After attending a high school in New Jersey and college in New York, Emin moved back to Russia in 2001. Emin not only helps his father with his real-estate empire but is also a pop singer. In 2006, he released his first pop album. After Aras secured the concert hall for Donald Trump to hold the 2013 Miss Universe, Emin reached out to Trump. Since the pageant, the Trumps and Agalarovs stayed in touch.

The President got to know the Russian-Azerbaijani family while licensing them the rights to his Miss Universe pageant for an estimated $7 million and discussing plans for a Trump Tower in Moscow (the idea was abandoned as his political fortunes began to rise).

Trump tweeted a thank you to Aras and tweeted: “Emin was wow.” The hopes were to create a Trump Tower Moscow before Trump started his presidential race. Once that came through, plans for Moscow were stopped.

In February 2017, Emin was interviewed by Forbes where he claimed that Donald Trump and his father had a great relationship and corresponded on multiple occasions.
